Scope of Work
As part of a pipeline inspection, repair and maintenance programme in the Gulf of Mexico, KDM Marine were contracted to supply excavation equipment to uncover the buried pipelines. KDM Marine proposed their innovative mass flow excavator, the TwinProp, to complete this workscope.
Outcome
The TwinProp spread was utilised on a call-out basis, at a number of locations where pipelines had to be uncovered for inspection. The equipment spread was stored at KDM's USA base in Lafayette, within easy reach of the majority of Louisiana ports.
Each area, approximately 5m x 3m x 1m deep was completed in less than 30 minutes. The multibeam echosounder mounted on the TwinProp was used to monitor and confirm the deburial process.
